thirty-eight years after gloriously winning the eurovision
song contest for luxembourg with the song “tu te
reconnaîtras” in 1973, anne marie david re-releases her
winning song in dance-pop style on october 23rd, 2011.
though times have changed from vinyl to mp3 downloads, anne
marie david’s voice, look, and instinct for great musical
projects has remained as brilliant as it has always been.
the new version, titled “tu te reconnaîtras (encore une
fois)”, is a killer on the dance floor. it is the first
eurovision song contest winning song to be revamped in such
a progressive way with clubby styles and sounds.
it is not just a remix of the 1973 version, but it is, as
well, a re-recorded cover version sung by the original
artist herself. it definitely shows us that classy french
chanson and young fresh beats can be combined into something
totally new.
the idea came up with the german artist mave o’rick who
produced the track with his team. he also accompanies the
whole project. a duet by anne marie david and mave o’rick in
german, “du bist da”, is the bonus-track only available in
online stores.
from october 23rd, 2011 onwards, the tracks will be
available in all online stores worldwide, such as amazon,
itunes, musicload, mediamarkt & fnac.

from october 16th 2011, swiss broadcast channel "sf" invites
you to vote for your favorite song, which will then have to
pass the tv preselection to eventually represent switzerland
at the esc in baku.

update: after a string of gigs in adverse weather, mave
finally was lucky on saturday at csd koblenz, when he
performed on a mild summer evening.
casting stars steffi list and michael hemmersbach livened up
the audience, just before mave stormed the stage with
his striking performance.
on saturday night - august 20th, 2011 - mave will play yet
another open air stage in this year's gay pride season. this
time, you can catch his performance in koblenz at münzplatz.
csd koblenz will take place there for the 4th time in a row.

mave o'rick was literally asked at the last minute if he'd
like to perform at ruhr csd 2011 and he happily and immediately agreed.

it was raining cats and dogs when mave entered the stage at vienna pride
2011 to perform 3 songs. but the heavy rain couldn't prevent
him from putting on an energetic show in front of a great audience.
on "bareback asshole", mave was supported by members
of the apollon dance company, the european champions in hip
hop. definitely a performance worth watching!

last weekend, mave rocked the stage at the csd düsseldorf
two times.
in brightest sunshine, he performed a set of three songs on
saturday and then again a set of six more songs on sunday,
before a full house of party people!
after the great eurovision song contest, the city of
düsseldorf is to host another great happening: the
"christopher street day".
as the controversial theme of this year's csd is
"homosexuality in church and soccer", mave is predestinated
to do two sets of songs from his thematically fitting album "neo messiah"
on saturday and sunday.

june 18th vienna pride
in february, mave participated for austria in the
"golden melody international song festival" with
his dance-track "von
oben" (song

live video).
now it's time for the real thing, so mave was invited to
perform this and a couple of other songs at the "vienna
pride" in vienna/austria. this is going to be mave's first
stage performance with supporting dancers.
last week, the eurovision song contest was one of the most
important happenings in the media. radio "die neue welle" aired a daily
special from düsseldorf, where mave reported on what was
going on in and around the arena.

on monday, 02/28/2011, the finals of the second golden
melody international song festival took place in paralimni,
cyprus.
after mave competed with 18 entrants in the semifinals the
day before, he managed to finish 8th in the finals.
we hope that we can present you another, professionally filmed
version in about two weeks' time.
